Martin Byrne

Mr. Byrne has been involved in the security industry for over 15yrs, during this period he has worked within many areas of security including banking, events and celebrity arenas. Martin's first management role was as Senior Supervisor for the set-up/break-down of the Carroll’s Irish Open (Golf) in Portmarnock, his main area of responsibility was dealing with the media and press. Martin then moved on and became Head of Security for the Irish Film Centre and Film Institute of Ireland. In this role Martin was Head of Security for many major events, including; the Oscar party for Neil Jordan’s "The Crying Game", the first Ambassadors screening of "Shindelers List", and the first cross-border meetings that were held in the Republic of Ireland for the main political parties. The latter included the responsibility for over 300 security personal over 3 days.

Mr. Byrne has worked in a Close Protection Officer (CPO) capacity with many celebrities, including: Sir Bob Geldoff, Michael Flatley, Bonnie Tyler, Padraig Harrington, Tiger Woods and Bono, to name but a few. I have worked overseas and gained International experience moving in many US States including Kansas, Tennessee, Richmond, Baltimore and Washington DC. He has also worked in close liaison with many Garda (Police) units working alongside his security operations.

At present Mr. Byrne is the Director of Security for Europe’s largest Hotel and Conference Centre Group, which is owned and run by one of Irelands most successful families. He oversees the total security operations of the Group in all areas and locations. These include; several Hotels worldwide, 3 world class Golf courses, and a private business airport. He also oversees the personal security of the family members.

I am very enthusiastic about his new role with P.E.P.S. as Director of Operations; working with fellow colleagues and providing world-class security for P.E.P.S. clients. I am equally passionate about teaching and sharing the vast knowledge that I have gained over the years, to new members eager to advance within the Close Protection Industry; a suitable career choice for both male and female candidates in an Industry that’s going from strength to strength.
